A beautiful and technical 21km route in Great and Little Langdale, based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn, part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend

The Race Route:
Start in the centre of Great Langdale at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn and head immediately uphill, turn swiftly left and ascend the very technical path and then run the wonderfully technical trail under Far Eastern Raven, then Far Raven and eventually Raven Crag dropping from here to the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub. From here, run up Mickleden, being blown away by the awesome views and turn ‘hard’ left at the end of the wall to cross the Great Langdale Beck and head back on rough but runnable trails to Stool End Farm.
From Stool End Farm you now cross the Oxendale Beck to ascent steep trails and steps to run past Red Tarn and round the side of Pike O'Blisco. Continuing to the 3 Shires Stone, now head left down Wrynose Pass on a short road section before heading back onto the trails over Fell Foot Bridge. Snaking round the back of Little Langdale Tarn continue on the trail to take you back into Great Langdale via the quarry and Baysbrown Farm/Campsite. Continue along The Cumbria Way until you are directed back to the Old Dungeon Ghyll Pub and along the technical trail and back to base at the Stickle Barn.
